Flashlight Egg Hunt

For the last 7 years, friends of our have hosted a Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt. They got the idea from Family Fun magazine. They considered not having one this year since the kids are all getting older, but tradition prevailed. Kids were happy!

The evening started with a game of kick ball on the cul-de-sac and a visit from EB.

While the kids were playing the parents were socializing.

Lots of yummy food!

Aren't these baggies of Cheetos adorable! They were shaped like carrots.

I brought a plate of cake balls! I had to show them off.

While we were socializing, we also hid the eggs. Once it was dark, it was time for the egg hunt.

One rule that has changed over the last couple of years is that the older kids have to use glow sticks instead of flashlights. That has made it much more challenging to find the eggs.

Sure, we can see the eggs because the flash of the camera, but it was much more difficult for the kids to see them. Especially only using a glow stick!

James with his basket.

Hannah with hers.

I didn't get very many good pictures in the dark. The combination of moving kids and poor lighting didn't mix well.

Once the hunt was done, the candy trading began.

We had a fun evening with great friends! Thank you to the J Family for continuing this tradition!
