Atlanta BOA Super Regional

This past October, the McEachern HS Marching Band participated in the Bands of America Super Regional in Atlanta. Since both of our kids were in the band, Chris & I took the day off to volunteer. Chris was on "truck crew" and I was a chaperone.

Our performance time was around 2pm. So we arrived early & were able to warm up and hang out in one of the parking lots across the street from the performance venue (The Georgia Dome).

Here's Hannah with one of her Color Guard best friends.

More friends.

Here's a picture of the parking lot where the band was hanging around waiting for instructions.

Color guard is ready to go!

Here come the Sousaphones! James is the last of the tuba players on the left.

Traffic was stopped so the whole 200+ group could cross the street. I'm glad I wasn't waiting at that intersection! Though it would be fun to watch the bands go by.

Getting ready to perform.

Performance time

There were close to 60 bands performing on Friday & Saturday. MHS did not make the finals, but we still went back the next day to watch the top bands compete. Since it was Halloween, Hannah wore kitty ears & she made me wear zebra ones. It is always a lot of fun watching the bands perform!
