What am I Reading?

Life has been in the way of my reading & my blogging lately. I'm way behind in the number of books I've read so far this year.

Since my last "What am I Reading?" post, here's what I've read:

I was so excited to read the latest Agent Pendergast book by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child. It was exciting and suspenseful. I LOVE this series!!

During the month of February, I read a couple of Valentine novellas. The first one was Secret Valentine by Katy Madison. It was a historical romance which involved paper crafting!

Then I read Cupid's Cupcake by Ivy Sinclair. It was about a woman who made special cupcakes every February which always resulted in marriage proposals to the customers who ate them.

The Highest Bidder by Sommer Mardsen was a romance about a Bachelor Charity Auction.

My Cowboy Valentine was a 2fer book. First was Be Mine, Cowboy by Jane Porter. The second book was Hill Country Cupid by Tanya Michaels. Tanya is a friend in my book club, so I always try to read her latest titles. Both were fun reads.

The new book by Kristan Higgins was a fast read. The Best Man was set in North East winery. Now that I am caught up with her books, she doesn't write fast enough for me!

The Boy Next Door by Annabelle Costa was a romantic comedy whose hero was paralyzed and in a wheel chair.

I've mentioned before about my quasi obsession with reality tv themed books. Extreme Dating by Cathy McDavid about a reality dating show with some truth or dare aspects. The premise was pretty interesting, but I had difficulties liking the characters.

Our March book club title was Jennifer Crusie's Bet Me. It was my first book by Crusie and I found it to be light & fun.

I heard about a reality Jane Austen themed book from a friend on Shelfari called Definitely Not Mr. Darcy. It was about a woman who goes to England to be on a reality show set back in Jane Austen's time. It turns out to not be what she expected, but decides to go through with it after all. Everything from the weekly baths, no electricity, chamber pots, etc. follows that time period. I thought this was a very fun book. The ending was a little disappointing - I was expecting something more definite.

We got the new 2013-14 Reading Bowl Book List in March. Hannah has already read 13 of the 20 titles. I've read one, A Tale Dark & Grimm by Adam Gidwitz. It's a very creative telling of the story of Hansel & Gretal.

Sleepless in Savannah by Rita Herron is set in the beautiful city of Savannah. I didn't realize it at the time, but it's the second in a series. It stands alone. I own the first one on my Kindle, I just didn't know it at the time.

And finally, I just read The Cinderella Deal by Jennifer Crusie. It was about a woman who agrees to pose as her neighbor's fiancee to help him land a job.

I know that may seem like a lot of books, but that's 3 months of reading and I usually read a lot more than that.

Anyway....happy reading!!!
