Attack of the Morning Glory

Back in 2012, I posted a blog entitled "Attack of the Wisteria Vine" . Now, 2 years later and a new house, we have "Attack of the Morning Glory".

I have never grown Morning Glory before & I have been enjoying them. The previous home owner had the vine under control. I have not. My husband has asked that I get them under control, so I took some pictures this morning before I work on them.


Here's a view of my deck. The vine has worked it's way up to the second floor deck.

It's found it's way in more than one spot, too.

Here's the view from down below.

It sneaks around the patio.

It's taken over other plants.

It's getting caught up in our lights.

And our wind chimes.

Behind the hot tub.

I really do like them. I just need to train them to wrap around certain things. Not chair legs, or other plants. They are very pretty. And I love how they open & close depending on the time of day.

Attack of the Wisteria Vine

We have some beautiful and rather large Wisteria vines growing along our fence. I have blogged about these vines before.

Today, after being gone on vacation for a week, we noticed that the vine had worked its way into the basement.

Chris put the vine around the lamp. It was on the floor and under the curtains.

Here is the vine and the window involved.

Here's where the little sucker got in. It crept in through the siding.

Chris cut the vine from the outside and as it is raining now, he will need to caulk to prevent other creatures from getting inside.

Wisteria

Several years ago, we planted 3 Wisteria vines around our backyard fence to provide some privacy. Our backyard is more to the side of our house rather than behind it, thus requiring something to hide all of the toys that the kids leave out.


Over the years, the vines have grown quite hardily. Above is just one of the vines that we originally planted and it covers over two sections of our fence.

This is the view from our deck to show how much privacy they provide.


The vines are in full bloom and quite fragrant right now.


We have lots of pollination going on as you can imagine. But soon the bees will be gone and we'll have our buzz-free privacy fence.
