Blueberry Picking

We have been wanting to go blueberry picking for the last week or two, but unless you get there early, it's too hot and miserable to pick them. I got one of the kids to bed somewhat early last night, so this morning, we woke up early enough to go.

There is a U-Pick blueberry place less than 5 minutes from our house.


We've been going here to pick blueberries for the last 5 or 6 years.

Buckets are provided for gathering. They also provide bug spray if you need it. The berries are $3 for the blue bucket and $6 for the orange one.

Because we went early enough, Chris was able to go with us. The more hands we have, the faster we can get the job done!


Since Hannah is the smallest, she had the job of climbing inside the bushes to get her berries.

We stopped after about 40 minutes. The orange bucket was about 3/4 full, but Chris still had to shower & get ready to go to work.

Plastic bags are provided for transporting your blueberries home.

Now I need to search for some new blueberry recipes - that is if the blueberries last long enough for me to do something with them.
